Meet the School, Family & Community Liaison 2023-2024

The role of the Liaison is to provide every parent/guardian and every family with support and assistance. Today’s families constantly deal with stress that impacts student’s abilities to participate in academic and extra-curricular school activities. If schools are to do an effective job of educating their increasingly diverse populations of students, they must find ways to communicate and build more cooperative working relationships with parents. The Liaison is here to facilitate parent-school communication, facilitate community agency referrals, encourage parent and family involvement in the school, foster trust between parents and the educational community, and foster higher academic achievement through collaboration with school personnel.
The goal for De Anza Elementary is to empower parents to become active participants in the education of their child(ren) and target those parents:
  1. Who need help in determining how best to help their child(ren).
  2. Are infrequent participants in school activities.
  3. May need clarification of their role in the educational process.
  4. Need assistance in making connections and accessing services.
We are your bridge and communication between the school and home by helping parents to get the information, help and support they need to ensure their child's academic and social success is being met in school. Often, parents feel uncomfortable about sharing their questions or concerns with the teachers or school administration. Because good communication between home and school is such a vital part of a student’s academic success. We will listen to parents concerns and then work with the school to make sure that the situation, question or point of view is expressed and understood.
We will need your help and support and if you need to find ways to resolve any issues that may be hindering your student’s success please feel free to let me know. We want to ensure that each parent understands what they can do to get involved, be informed, share information, and help students in the class to do his or her best.
Here at De Anza Elementary we strive for “Together we will successfully build student's full potential by doing whatever it takes.”
We will support you in any way that we can. If you have any further questions please feel free to call Cynthia Dominguez (School, Family & Community Liaison) at 951-654-4777 Ext. 3396 or 3328 and visit our school website for upcoming events.
